January 23 -27

In reading this week we looked at character traits and how we can identify them in our reading. We talked about how the Feelings, Actions, Sayings and Thoughts (FAST) of a character tells us more about him/her. In math we wrapped up our Chapter 6, and we will take a chapter test on Monday.

In Bible we are talking about Joseph and how God was always with him, even though he went through some serious hard times.

In science we started talking about animals! We classified animals and began to do research on 5 groups of the animal kingdom; mammals, fish, birds, reptiles and amphibians. In social studies the students learned about Marco Polo and his explorations of China.

1. Reading Night --Today the kids are brought home information about a Family Reading Night which will take place on Friday, February 10th. If you’d like to participate and come to the Family Reading Night, illustrate your family favorite book and bring it on 2/10 for a fun night of crafts, snacks, and reading and receive a free book! :)
