Full Week Back ~ January 9-13

First full week back from break and we're settling back into our school mindset again :)

It was great to see some of you at Kite Day! I think the kids had a great time flying their kites!

This week we finished up our science unit on the changes of earth and our social studies unit on Vikings. In reading we focused on the strategy of making a mental image or picture in our heads when we are reading (just like a movie!) In math we continued looking at multiplication and division patterns in chapter 6 of our math book.

It is a short week next week (no school Monday and Friday) so there will be NO spelling list or Bible memory verse. Remember that it is also School Spirit Week....come dressed up to show your school spirit!!

Also, remember the scholastic book orders (see my last post talking more about that) if you would like to order books

1/16 - NO SCHOOL -- Martin Luther King Jr. Day --It is also my birthday :)

1/17-19 - School Spirit Week

Spirit Week Schedule:

Tuesday (17th) = pajamas to school

Wednesday (18th) = crazy hair or hat day

Thursday (19th) = wear red or white to school

1/19 - 2nd quarter ends

1/20 - NO SCHOOL -- Teacher Work Day

1/23 - 3rd quarter begins

1/26 - 1st semester report cards are issued
